Zoe & Bob | Intimate Wedding at Domaine de Capelongue, Bonnieux, Luberon
There are places that seem to have been waiting for a wedding. Domaine de Capelongue is one of them — a centuries-old stone bastide perched above the village of Bonnieux, where the Luberon mountains roll endlessly into the haze and the light turns gold long before sunset.
Zoe and Bob chose this extraordinary estate for their autumn wedding, and from the first quiet moments of the morning to the last champagne toast of the night, every hour felt like it had been made for them.
The Morning — Getting Ready
Zoe prepared inside one of the estate’s sun-washed suites, Provençal morning light filtering through sheer linen curtains. Her Jimmy Choo slingbacks sat beside her vow booklet on the stone stairs — those small, quiet objects that hold so much weight on a wedding morning.

Bob, composed and elegant in a white dinner jacket with a black bow tie, waited in his own room — reflected twice in the suite’s arched mirror, as if one groom wasn’t enough to contain the excitement of the day.
The Ceremony — Vows by the Fountain
The ceremony was held in the estate’s cobbled inner courtyard — one of the most magical outdoor wedding spaces in all of Provence. White Thonet chairs lined the sun-drenched terrace, each adorned with a black velvet ribbon. At the heart of it all stood the ancient stone fountain, crowned with white lilies, calla stems, and trailing green amaranthus.

Behind the couple, an entire stone wall blazed with crimson Virginia creeper in its peak autumn colour. The contrast — white blooms, red ivy, Provençal stone — made for a ceremony backdrop that no designer could have planned. Nature simply outdid itself.
Zoe read her vows to Bob with a smile she couldn’t contain. Bob’s eyes said everything his words were still searching for. And when they turned to walk back down the aisle, she raised her bouquet to the sky — pure, unfiltered joy.
Golden Hour — The Luberon Gardens
As the afternoon sun tipped toward the Luberon ridgeline, we slipped away to the estate’s sculpted gardens — boxwood hedges, Italianate cypresses, and umbrella pines that have been growing here for generations. The golden light in Provence at this hour is something photographers dream about all year.

Zoe’s halterneck satin gown was made for evenings exactly like this: fluid, luminous, catching the low rays like it had been spun from them. Bob’s ivory dinner jacket completed a pairing that was effortlessly cinematic.
The Reception — Dinner, Dancing & Champagne
By the time the stars appeared over the Luberon, the candles were lit, the wine was flowing, and nobody was sitting still. Zoe and Bob’s guests filled the dining room with laughter that shook the walls of the old bastide — the kind that only happens when people who truly love each other are gathered in one place.

Champagne flutes clinked in chaotic towers. The groom’s friends had abandoned their bow ties somewhere between the entrée and the dancing. And Zoe and Bob danced like the night was entirely theirs — because it was.
Zoe and Bob chose one of the most extraordinary settings I have ever photographed — but what made the day unforgettable was the warmth between every single person there. The venue provided the backdrop. They provided the soul.

Congratulations, Zoe & Bob. Thank you for letting me be there.
